Total Conversion mod for Galactic Civilizations 2: Twilight of Arnor in development. This mod is based off of the game Star Fleet Battles/Federation and Empire. A variation of Star Trek but combined with lots of different source material.

Is it DC's decision or the creator's decision (maybe they just got tired?)?

Creator would be Bob Kane who's dead. This is DC's doing.

Well not the Creator but the guy who is currently drawing/writing it

Sorry for not being clear.

There's still the latest creative team to consider. The petition makes no mention of whether the writer and/or lead artist want to keep going.

Do you know for sure if this is a pure bean counter decision?

I found the link on dccomics.com on their message board.

As for the current writers and artists. Have a new team take over. Other comics change up all the time.

Wait... if that character never existed in the first place, we would never had that dismal movie.

If Batman didn't exist, we wouldn't have Catwoman, but wouldn't have Dark Knight either.

True but seeing that in that movie her name wasn't Selina Kyle, it didn't take place in Gotham City, there was no Batman, AND THE REAL CATWOMAN DOESN'T HAVE SUPER POWERS. That one doesn't count.

That changing up "all the time" was the reason I dropped many a comic back in the days when I had comics as a line item in my personal budget. IMO, any given comic title needs at least one senior person in the credits who loves the art at least as much as he or she loves a paycheck.

The rumor is with the current Batman storyline: R.I.P. they may actually KILL OFF Catwoman. Not cool.

KILL OFF Catwoman. Not cool.

Killing off beloved characters is upsetting, but sometimes I think it needs to happen more often, especially in long serial works. It can take the edge off a dramatic moment when you realize that a given actor or character franchise almost certainly means the scrape will come out OK in the end.

Mind you, I'm not voting to tie Catwoman in a sack and throw her in the river or anything. You just caught my interest with that petition and set me wondering just how much influence mass fan behavior might eventually have on comic titles and TV series.

Even if the senior editors are plotting to kill Catwoman, you should take heart that it is a comic book and deaths are not always as permanent as they appear. The DC universe has several characters who might be able to pull a kitty cat out of their hat--Zatana, Dr. Fate, perhaps one of the New Gods...

Out of our list the only one still around is Zatanna. I understand the New Gods are not dead but only in human bodies, the new FINAL CRISIS storyline sucks so far anyway.

Sure they could kill off Catwoman and then bring back another one who isn't Selina Kyle but its Selina who I like. It would be Batman but without Bruce Wayne. Wayne's life and tragedy is what makes the Batman. Wouldn't be the same.

But the final issue of Catwoman is the end of this month. She is also teamed up with Batman in Detective Comics currently so I guess we'll see.

Well, I wish you & your fellow Selina supporters good luck.

Here's the Wiki page for Dr. Fate. I've never liked those massive sprawl-things that publisher use to try to drive sales across a dozen titles--they're a big reason I don't buy books regularly any more.

Weird to think of the New Gods all being dead. But skimming around the Wiki stuff on the Crisis hints that the life-death mojo is still around, so maybe a reborn Selina Kyle would have a cat outfit a-la Jack Kirby? Could be funky.
